The Great British Farmers Market is committed to ensuring that all products listed on our platform meet high standards of quality, accuracy, and legality.

This Product Listing Policy outlines the guidelines for acceptable product listings, prohibited items and content, and the requirements for product descriptions, images, and pricing.

As we use other key suppliers in our day to day business they also have restrictions and prohibited items.  

The main and most restrictive is our payment services provider, Stripe.

Please review their list of prohibited items and ensure that your product or offering does not impact this list as well.

Quality Standards

• Controlled substances, including drugs and drug paraphernalia.
• Hazardous materials, including explosives and flammable items.
• Weapons and related accessories.

Counterfeit and Infringing Items

• Counterfeit goods and items that infringe on others' intellectual property rights.
• Unauthorized replicas or copies of branded products.

To maintain a respectful and inclusive marketplace, the following types of content are prohibited from listings on the Great British Farmers Market:

Offensive, Obscene, or Inappropriate Content

Content that is generally recognized as offensive, obscene, or inappropriate, taking into consideration community standards and cultural sensitivity. This includes, but is not limited to, sexually explicit material, excessive profanity, and graphic violence.

Content that, while possibly humorous to some, could be considered deeply offensive or harmful to others. Sellers are encouraged to consider the broader impact of their listings and to err on the side of caution when listing items with potentially controversial themes.

Content Promoting Violence, Hatred, or Discrimination

Listings that promote or glorify violence, hatred, or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other characteristic.

The sale or display of items that are universally recognized as symbols of hatred or intolerance, such as Nazi insignia, or other symbols associated with hate groups, is strictly prohibited.

Misleading or False Information

Listings that contain misleading, false, or deceptive information about a product, its origin, or its intended use.

Sellers are expected to accurately represent their products in all aspects, including descriptions, images, and pricing.

Cultural Sensitivity and Context

While personal taste and humour can vary, sellers are urged to be mindful of cultural sensitivities and the diverse backgrounds of potential customers. Content that might be interpreted in different ways should be considered carefully before being listed.

The Great British Farmers Market reserves the right to remove content that is reported as offensive or inappropriate, even if it was not intended to be harmful.

Reporting Mechanism : Customers and other sellers can report listings they find offensive or inappropriate. Each report will be reviewed carefully, and actions will be taken in line with our community standards and this product policy.

If a product does not violate our Product Listing Policy but is simply not to your taste, we recommend continuing to explore other offerings on the marketplace.
