Supplier Eligibilty Policy

Purpose: This policy explains who can sell on our platform. We want to support independent, UK-based businesses, not chains, franchises, or big corporations. Our goal is to promote small producers, artisans, and growers who offer unique, high-quality products.

Who Can Sell on Our Marketplace?

To sell with us, you must be a self-employed individual or an independent business that meets the following criteria:

1. You Own and Run Your Business

  • Your business must be privately owned and operated by you (or a small team).
  • You (or the owners) must be directly involved in the day-to-day running of the business and make the key decisions.

2. Your Business Structure

  • You cannot be part of a chain, franchise, or multiple locations in the UK,  under the same brand name.
  • You cannot be a subsidiary or owned by a larger corporation.
  • You must operate as a single, independent business.

3. Where Your Products Come From

  • Your products must be primarily sourced, produced, or crafted in the UK.
  • Speciality products from outside the UK are allowed if:
    • They are unique, high-quality, and not commonly available in the UK.
    • You can provide documentation (e.g., certificates, invoices) to prove their speciality nature and origin.
    • They comply with all UK laws (e.g., safety, labelling, and import regulations).
    • You are transparent about where and how you source or produce your products.

4. Your Business Size

  • We welcome small businesses, including:
    • Self-employed individuals.
    • Micro-businesses or part-time sellers (e.g., "side hustles").
    • Businesses with minimal or no employees.
  • You don’t need a formal business setup, but you must independently produce or source unique products.

5. Your Products

  • Your products must be unique, high-quality, and authentic.
  • They should reflect your creativity, craftsmanship, or expertise (e.g., handmade, homegrown, or locally produced).

How to Apply

1. Apply to Sell

  • Fill out our application form, telling us about:
    • Your business structure and ownership.
    • What you sell and how you source or produce it.
  • Be ready to provide supporting documents, such as:
    • Proof of ownership (e.g., business registration).
    • Any relevant licences or certifications (e.g., food hygiene, organic).

2. We’ll Check Your Application

  • We’ll review your application to make sure it meets our criteria.
  • We may ask for more information or arrange a quick chat to verify your details.
  • If approved, we’ll let you know in writing and give you access to list your products.

3. Staying Compliant

  • You must continue to meet these criteria while selling with us.
  • We may periodically review your business to ensure you still qualify.
  • If you no longer meet the criteria, you must notify us immediately.
  • If you break these rules, we may suspend or remove your listings.

Who Cannot Sell on Our Marketplace?

  • Chain stores or businesses with multiple locations under the same brand name.
  • Franchises or businesses operating under a franchise model.
  • Subsidiaries or businesses owned by larger corporations.
