Refund and Return Policy

Purpose

This policy outlines the procedures and conditions for refunds and returns to ensure a fair and transparent process for both customers and vendors at the Great British Farmers Market.

Customer Rights

Customers have the right to return products and request refunds or replacements under the conditions specified in this policy.

Conditions for Returns

Eligibility for Returns

  1. Products must be returned within 14 days of receipt.
  2. Products must be in their original condition, unused, and with all original packaging and any tags intact.
  3. Perishable goods, personalized items, and items on sale are not eligible for returns unless they are defective or damaged upon receipt.

Defective or Damaged Products

  • If a product is defective or damaged upon receipt, customers must notify the vendor within 7 days of delivery.
  • Customers must provide photographic evidence of the defect or damage.

Return and Replacement Process

Initiating a Return or Replacement

Customers should contact the vendor directly via the contact information provided on the marketplace to initiate a return or request a replacement.
The vendor will provide instructions on how to return the product or proceed with the replacement.

Shipping Costs

If the return or replacement is due to a defective or damaged product, the vendor will cover the return shipping costs and the shipping costs for the replacement.
For all other returns, the customer is responsible for the return shipping costs.

Processing Returns and Replacements

  1. Once the vendor receives the returned product and verifies its condition, the refund or replacement will be processed.
  2. Refunds will aim to be issued to the original payment method within 14 days of receiving the returned product.
  3. Replacements will aim to be shipped to the customer within 14 days of receiving the returned product.

Refund Conditions

Full Refunds

  • Full refunds will be issued for products that are returned in their original condition and packaging within the specified return period.
  • Defective or damaged products will be refunded in full, including the original shipping cost.

Partial Refunds

  • If a returned product is not in its original condition, has missing parts, or is damaged for reasons not due to the vendor’s error, only a partial refund will be granted.
  • The partial refund amount will depend solely on the state of the item being returned.

Vendor Obligations

Timely Communication

Vendors must respond to return or replacement requests and communications from customers promptly, typically within 2 business days.

Refund and Replacement Processing

  1. Vendors must process refunds within 14 days of receiving the returned product and notify the customer once the refund has been issued.
  2. Vendors must process and ship replacements within 14 days of receiving the returned product.

Prevention of Abuse

Monitoring and Review

The Great British Farmers Market will monitor customer return and refund activities to identify patterns of abuse.
Customers who frequently request refunds or replacements may be subject to review.

Limitations on Refund and Replacement Requests

Customers may be limited in the number of refunds or replacements they can request within a certain time period.
Multiple refund or replacement requests across different vendors within a short time frame may trigger a review.

Investigation and Action

If a pattern of abuse is identified, the marketplace reserves the right to investigate and take appropriate action, which may include limiting the customer’s ability to request refunds or replacements, or suspending their account.
In serious cases, all details and information regarding the abuse will be provided to the police for investigation.
Vendors will be supported in addressing and resolving cases of suspected abuse.  

Marketplace Support

The Great British Farmers Market will assist in mediating any disputes between customers and vendors regarding any issues including refunds and returns.
Customers and vendors can contact marketplace support for assistance if issues cannot be resolved directly.

Exceptions

This policy does not cover products purchased from third-party links or external websites.
Custom or personalized orders, perishable goods, and sale items are final sale and cannot be returned unless defective or damaged.

Policy Amendments

The Great British Farmers Market reserves the right to amend this policy at any time.
 
Customers and vendors will be notified of any changes, and the updated policy will be available on the marketplace website.
